Rain is Stephen Colbert’s biggest arch nemesis!

You’re going to love this! American comedian and television host Stephen Colbert pokes fun at his Kpop arch nemesis, Rain. Colbert announced his rivalry with Rain back in 2008 when Rain topped Time Magazine’s ‘Most influential top 100 people‘ beating Colbert for the top spot.

Of course Colbert had to get back at Rain for beating him, so he made a video parody of Rain’s hit song “How to avoid the sun.” Let’s take a walk down memory lane…

Fast forward 2 years later, and Colbert revives his bitter rivalry after finding out Rain won the ‘Biggest Badass’ award at the MTV Movie Awards.

The video is hilarious and even though Colbert is poking fun at Rain, you can’t help but think Colbert secretly loves our beloved Kpop singer!

The video is delightful in that Colbert makes fun of Rain without being a complete ass. Not to mention, his weird obsession with our Kpop star is kind of cute!

Rain has a new rival

Lee Jung-jin, actor well known for his role in MBC drama “9 Ends 2 Out” and the Happy Sunday segment, “Qualities of a Man”,  has been cast as Rain’s rival character in the upcoming drama “Runaway”.

“Runaway” is a drama about a big sum of money that disappeared during the Korean War, which resurfaces again in  2010. Ji-woo and Jin-yi, characters both played respectively by Rain and Lee Na-young are the ones on the run with the money, while Lee Jung-jin’s character of lead investigator chases after the suspicious duo.

Lee Jung-jin has stated that he feels blessed to be a part of a well-made project like “Runaway” and hopes that he could leave the viewers with a strong impression with this role.

“Runaway” has began filming and will air in the later part of this year.

Why is Park Si-hoo taking dance and vocal lessons?

…… for the fans!

Park Si-hoo’s management company, Story Entertainment, revealed that Park Si-hoo has been taking hiphop dance lessons at NaNa School (the dance team of Girl’s Generation and Lee Hyo-ri) and vocal lessons from Jo Sung-min (member of former band 015B) ever since the end of filming for “Prosecutor Princess” for his fan meetings in Japan.

The fan meetings in Japan start on June 20, 2010 at Osaka Theater BRAVA with around 1,000 of his fans and will continue to take place in a couple of major Japanese cities. Park Si-hoo has been working hard to prepare a special performance for his fans in Japan.

Park Si-hoo will leave for Osaka on the 19th of this month to complete the scheduled fan meetings and photo shoots.

It is nice to know he cares for his fans so dearly, enough to take his own time out to prepare a special stage for them.

iPhone girl Kim Yeo-hee’s debut is a huge success!

Yeo-hee had a successful debut on M! Countdown, June 17th. She unveiled charismatic and strong vocals with her title song ,”My Music.”

Her new single exposes the singer’s unqiue color and powerful vocals. In fact, she is the singer and songwriter! The song has a piano and string background which allows her voice to stand out. Netizens were very pleased by her debut performance. She had an innocent yet alluring image and showed great emotion throughout her performance.

The editor for the photo shoot stated, “Lee Hyo-ri is really a top star. After deciding on this type of photo shoot, she said she didn’t miss one day of exercising. I didn’t take that seriously, but while shooting her, I was blown away. Her curvy yet lean body line especially her abs were really flawless.” The editor continued by saying, “She put on a fairly simple bathing suit, but made it sexy with her glamorous body line and the sultry look in her eyes.

F(x)‘s pretty leader,Victoria, and 2pm‘s pretty(I mean handsome)singer have finally met on TV.  The “pretend” married couple’s footage of their initial “love at first sight” meeting  will officially hit TV screens,June 26th.It seems a little unfair that singers,actors,models,MC’s and everyone else in the K-pop entertainment industry have been paired up in this show. What about K-pop entertainment writers, like POPSEOUL? I bet you POPSEOULers would love to see us on this kind of variety show, right? How many of you would vote for us? Anyone? Choi Si-won and Jung Yong-hwa were seen together recently around Seoul!

The Super Junior member and CN Blue’s main vocalist were spotted together filming a episode of  the variety show “Win Win“. These two were paired up, but not in “THAT” way. They are not your newest couple,but they are co-workers. Pictures have surfaced online from the filming location. The two singers were wearing signature white shirts,while they seem to be making ice cream cones.The subject of shoot has not been released,however, we can imagine (if it was a CF) what they could be promoting. Could it be ice cream,clothing or ”Super-Blue” boy-band friendships?

“Win Win” airs Tuesdays at 11:05 on KBS.

Whose make-up free face is the prettiest from Kara?

That would be Kang Ji-young, according to the members of Super Junior.

On this week’s episode of KBS “Star Golden Bell- Grade 1 Class 1″, Lee-teuk, Dong-hae, Shin-dong, and Eun-hyuk selected Kang Ji-young as the member of Kara with the prettiest natural face without any makeup. Surprisingly, in last place was Park Gyu-ri who hails herself as a “goddess”. The other Kara members jealously added that this is probably because Ji-young is the youngest of the group. Ji-young, instead of enjoying the compliments and spotlight, stated that she can’t look at the mirror with her raw(?) face because she has bad dark circles.

Ji-young really shouldn’t be complaining about her dark circles. After all, there are some normal common people in this world who have other problems like acne and freckles to worry about.

Lee Min-ho will be holding a fan meeting

Lee Min-ho will be holding a fan meeting titled “2010, The Specialday With Minoz” at Seoul Kyunghi University on June 20, 2010.

The fan meeting will be hosted by comedian, Yoon Hyung-bin known more as Wang Bi-ho from Gag Concert. Lee Min-ho’s close friends, Jung Il-woo and Kim Bum will accompany him as guests. In addition, Jung Sung-hwa (fellow actor from “Personal Taste”), Jung Won-chang (famous Taiwanese actor known for his role in drama Taiwanese “Playful Kiss”), 2AM, Yoon-ha, and Seeya will also be on stage.

Many fans probably will attend, but for those of you that can’t attend this week, do not be too depressed. Etude will hold a Pink Play Concert at Walker Hill Hotel Rive Park on August 20, 2010, where fans will be able to meet Lee Min-ho and see 2NE1′s passionate performance on stage.

The “Cyrano Agency” actress was picked as the number one female Asian actress on the well-known Easy Magazine website. The foreign entertainment site conducted a poll in which Shin-hye beat  other popular international stars for the coveted title of “most popular female Asian star”.On June 18th,her management company,Ava Entertainment, announced,”Since December 2009, she has ruled the”Easy“online polls!”

Daniel Henney is the newest “Fugitive”

Daniel is latest actor to join the Rain-Na-young love triangle.

International actor Daniel Henney has just crossed the “Three Rivers” and the Pacific Ocean to be cast in the upcoming drama “Fugitive“. The star will play an adversary in the KBS drama. He will come between Rain and  Lee Na-young’s “pretend” love. Of course, Na-young is one lucky girl. Her character can not lose in this drama.  She can choose the sexy singer Rain or hot actor Daniel Henney. This should be one interesting finale.

Lee Hyo-ri finally responds to plagiarism allegations

Lee Hyo-ri admitted the plagiarism allegations through her fan cafe on June 20, 2010.

She stated that the songs on her fourth album that were alleged to be composed by Bahnus Vacuum were not composed by him. He plagiarized the songs from other sources. Lee Hyo-ri continued by saying it is her fault because she didn’t suspect Bahnus of committing such wrong actions. She added that she will try to solve the situation but until then, she will stop further promotions of the album.

Lee Hyo-ri has received plagiarism allegations ever since the release of her fourth album. She received in total six songs including “Swing”, “Bring It Back”, and “I’m Back” from Bahnus Vacuum. Once the plagiarism issues started escalating, Bahnus put up a defense saying that while he studied abroad, he gave several demo songs to other record labels. However, once down to the root of the situation, these statements were proven to be false.

Lee Hyo-ri clearly recognized that many songs in her fourth album were plagiarized publicly, and netizens are actually giving her praise for such honest actions. She apologized, admitted the wrong actions, and promised to take responsibility for them.

Move aside Orange Caramel, here comes Peanut Caramel

Kim Hee-chul from Super Junior revealed on his twitter pictures of Peanut Caramel, a parody of After School’s sub-group Orange Caramel (Nana, Raina, and Lizzy).

Hee-chul photoshopped the Super Junior members’ faces (Hee-chul, Shin-dong, and Ryeo-wook in the first one and Eun-hyuk replacing Ryeo-wook in the third picture) over the faces of the Orange Caramel members. He added a caption on the first picture saying that Shin-dong is still cute with his chin stubbles and that he was originally thinking of photoshopping Shin-dong’s face over Raina’s and Eun-hyuk’s over Lizzy’s. For the second picture, he photoshopped his face on all three members adding a funny caption that he looks like an orange gargamel from the classic cartoon, “The Smurfs”. For the third, he put up an Eun-hyuk version, replacing Ryeo-wook’s face with Eun-hyuk’s.

Netizens, after seeing the pictures, all marveled at Hee-chul’s beauty and strange ability to look like a real woman.

The cute actor/MC is joining the SBS network on Sunday! Song Joong-ki will be the latest addition to the already veteran list of hosts on an upcoming variety show entitled “Good Sunday“.The name may seem familiar to you,but the network  probably has a few tricks up their sleeves.The actor was chosen for a number of reasons three of them were: his talent, unique charm,and well-rounded personality.The production staff even refer to him as their “secret card”. The two angelic voices of Navi and K.Will collaborate

Their music will move many hearts.

Navi released a new single titled, “We Really Loved Each Other” with K.Will,on June 21st. Their friendship began after appearing on radio talk shows together. When Navi asked K.Will to work with her on the song, he gladly accepted! Their voices really complement each other. The song gives each singer a chance to display their angelic voices from beginning to end.

Posters released for “My Girlfriend is a Nine-tailed Fox”

Teaser posters for upcoming SBS drama “My Girlfriend is a Nine-tailed Fox” have been released on June 20, 2010.

The posters were shot at SBS Ilsan Studio with the two main leads, Lee Seung-gi and Shin Min-ah. The main concept of the photo shoot was for Lee Seung-gi to fall in love with Shin Min-ah at first glance until the wind blows her skirt up to reveal her nine tails. Once he realizes she’s a nine-tailed fox, he had to act surprised.

Lee Seung-gi and Shin Min-ah, the two leading CF icons, did a nice job at the shoot expressing a variety of different emotions. Upcoming SBS drama “My Girlfriend is a Nine-tailed Fox” will air in the same time slot as “Bad Guy” after it ends.

But with the World Cup interfering with the broadcasting schedules of many dramas, “Bad Guy” may take longer than usual to end. However, it is scheduled to air this week, so let’s hope it stays on track after last week’s hiatus. Then, “My Girlfriend is a Nine-tailed Fox” may also premiere on time, without delays.

Victoria from f(x) is a natural beauty

Victoria from f(x) does indeed seem like a natural beauty, probably with no or very minimal plastic surgery.

A clip from 2006 National Geographic documentary, “Zhang Ziyi: Creative Asian Beauty”, has surfaced on the Internet, and this time, Victoria from f(x) has been stealing the headlines. Zhang Ziyi is an alumni from the same arts and dance focused school that Victoria attended, so in 2006, when Zhang Ziyi came to film the school, she caught a young Victoria doing morning exercises on tape.

Victoria stands out from the crowd with her big eyes, small face, long limbs, and lean body. Netizens have been marveling at Victoria’s natural beauty and her cute cheeks.

Orange Caramel turns sour

 

Citrus and caramel doesn’t mix well anyway.

After sexy diva Lee Hyori, it’s now Orange Caramel‘s turn to be accused of plagiarism. The overly sweet trio made of After School‘s Nana, Raina and Lizzy comes under fire for the uncanny resemblance between their first single “Magic Girl” and a Japanese pop song, “Hare no Platinum Dori”, by Saki Nakajima & Mai Hagiwara. And while netizens were at it, they also played “spot the difference” between the MV for “Magic Girl” and the French CM for “Miss Dior Cherie”, claiming that not only the scene where Nana is lifted in the air by the balloons she’s holding came from the TV ad but the whole concept, cakes and candies are plagiarized. Oh My Gosh, pastel colors and candies/cupcakes/sweets/lollipops/whatever sugary treats you may fancy are so unusual in a Kpop MV that they must have taken them from elsewhere ! Quick, someone report Super Junior to the police, I swear that the lollipops they have in “Happiness” are the same as some kids’ I saw down the street, they must have stolen plagiarized them !More seriously, although “Magic Girl” and the Jpop song sound really similar, the Dior ad thing is quite far-fetched.

2AM are Karaoke Kings?

Their song “Won’t Let You Go Even If I Die” is number one on the charts!

The Wonder Girls upcoming tour mates, 2AM, have recieved the honor of having one of their songs be number one among karaoke crowds. According to the karaoke(aka noraebang) charts, 2AM ‘s”Won’t Let You Go Even If I Die” was the most popular song for Winter/Spring of 2010. The talented quintet’s song exceeded other top K-pop artists to reach the top. They even beat long time song  karaoke champion Lee Eun-mi! It may not be the K-Chart, but this loved JYPE band does have another title for themselves. Since karaoke is a late night event, it seems only fitting for our overnight(or early morning) boys to take the crown. They proved if you get up early you win the prize!
